Amy Marchant Occupational Therapist

"Through home modifications from a functional perspective - combined with in-home occupational therapy, we are able to improve the person-environment fit and truly help our clients achieve their highest level of functional independence."

Amy Marchant is a highly experienced and dedicated, licensed and registered Occupational Therapist based in Birmingham, Alabama. With a Master's of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Amy has over 10 years of experience, primarily working with client's in their homes. Her passion lies in helping clients regain independence and enhance their quality of life, especially through home-based therapy, home modifications and adaptive living.

Amy's extensive experience in home health has taught her that the home environment often makes daily activities within the home more difficult when navigating various medical conditions or injuries. Her dedication to finding solutions led her to obtain the Executive Certificate in Home Modification (ECHM) from the University of Southern California. Additionally, she earned the CAPS designation (Certified Aging in Place Specialist) through the National Association of Home Builders and achieved the CHAMPS recognition (Certified Home Accessibility and Modification Professional) to assist those with catastrophic injuries.

Amy is passionate about creating functional homes tailored to the client's specific needs. Her dedication extends beyond assisting older adults and those with catastrophic injuries; she also aims to serve the pediatric population and families as a whole. As a mother of three, Amy has a deep understanding and empathy for children and families, recognizing the importance of advocacy. To best serve the Birmingham area, she has expanded Liv Equipt to offer pediatric occupational therapy services in the outpatient setting, ensuring comprehensive care throughout the lifespan. Amy primarily works with clients in their homes, but also treats children at the Equipt Kids clinic in Vestavia as well.
